Step 1:

Get Trained and Certified
As a Microsoft partner, you can now experience, at no cost, a four-day classroom training session, led by experienced Microsoft consultants, who will teach you how to tackle complex customer challenges in a hands-on lab environment. You'll also learn how to use the Microsoft Business Desktop Deployment 2007 Solution Accelerator to deliver results.

DDPS  training includes:

  • Details on partner roles and responsibilities

  • How to deliver an engagement

  • A business value overview

  • How to assess and calculate the cost of migration and deployment

  • How to successfully create a lab environment to demonstrate the deployment solution to your customers

Whether your consultants are skilled in Microsoft’s Business Desktop Deployment Accelerator (BDD) or not, training is available on a regional basis and online to bring them up to speed. This can be used as a great refresher or to get them started. To deliver on Desktop Deployment Planning Services, your consultants must pass the test and get certified.

In addition to contacting your PAM regarding local classes available to you, we recommend that you check the Partner Learning Center (PLC) for updates to availability of Instructor Led Classes in your area.  In addition, check the PLC for updates to availability of online content that is relevant to DDPS, the BDD, and Desktop Deployment.  For guidance on training, refer to the resources and saved searches below.

Step 2:

Get Registered

Once your consultants pass one or both of the the Microsoft Learning certification exams and get certified, your company will be eligible to update your registration with the Microsoft Partner Program and highlight your solution in the Office System Solution Directory (OSSD). By accepting the Terms and Conditions of the program, your company will be displayed on the list of Packaged Service Providers.

DDPS to-customer marketing pieces direct customers to this certified provider list which makes it easy to locate and contact you.

Register your company to be a certified DDPS partner.

Step 3:

Get Engaged and Get Paid

Once you are certified and registered, you will be eligible to be paid by Microsoft to deliver a qualifying desktop deployment plan to your customers—at no cost to them—through remote or, in most cases, on-site consulting sessions.

The length of these sessions can vary depending on the Software Assurance agreement signed by the customer. Customers may be eligible to receive either a remote one-day, or a three, five, or ten day on-site deployment solution session.

Customers also have the opportunity to increase the length of their Desktop Deployment Planning Service—up to a special 15-day consulting session—by converting some of the training vouchers they've earned through the Software Assurance program.
