How to Get Paid - Overview

When the partner has completed the DDPS engagement, they are ready to begin the process to receive payment from Microsoft (to view program rate information click here). The process includes the following:

Redeeming the Voucher & Uploading Required Deliverables in VVR

  1. Redeeming the voucher
The partner redeems the voucher at the end of the engagement by submitting the required deliverables through the Voucher Validation and Redemption (VVR) Tool, notifying Microsoft that the services associated with that voucher have been delivered to the customer. The following document will walk you step by step through the process of redeeming a voucher in the VVR Tool.

See detailed instructions for redeeming a voucher in the VVR Tool in this document.

Watch as Microsoft employees walk you through redeeming a voucher in the VVR Tool in this video.

Once the partner has redeemed the voucher, the partner has the ability to:
          a. Email a confirmation of the voucher redemption
          b. View the confirmation in a Printer Friendly format
          c. View the confirmation in Excel
          d. Go back and redeem another voucher

  2. Uploading required deliverables

Partners redeem their vouchers by uploading the required deliverables for the engagement in VVR. The required deliverables are detailed in the Terms and Conditions for DDPS.  These deliverables (deployment plan, etc.)  are defined as the output or result of the deployment engagement with the customer. Microsoft reviews these deliverables for proof of a unique engagement per customer and for adherence to the Terms and Conditions. Failure to provide unique deliverables will impact the partner's future participation in the program.

  3. Customer Survey
An invitation to submit a Customer Survey regarding Packaged Services is sent to the Packaged Services Contact after you redeem the voucher in VVR. This survey is sent by a third party and the partner does not see it - nor is it required as a program deliverable. This customer survey is optional and allows the customer to provide feedback on Packaged Services as part of their SA benefit.

Invoicing

Partner invoices the Microsoft Regional Service Center with the payment form and Voucher ID.

  1. Complete the Packaged Services Voucher Payment Request form.
  2. Create an invoice - the invoice should reference the same information entered in the Packaged Services Voucher Payment Request form. Please note that Microsoft does not send the invoice number to the partner - it is generated during voucher redemption in VVR.
  3. The partner must mail the invoice and Packaged Services Voucher Payment Request form to their Regional Service Center.  Contact information and mailing address is provided to the partner when they call their RSC. Please note that per the Terms & Conditions of the program, partners have 60 days from Voucher redemption to invoice Microsoft.

Quality Assurance and Receiving Payment
  • Regional Service Center (RSC): RSC verifies that the Voucher ID on the invoice and the Voucher ID on the required deliverables match.

Match: Payment is sent from the RSC in net 60 days.
No Match: RSC contacts the partner to resolve

Escalation: To resolve issues around payment, partners can contact their local RSC. Click here to learn how to find your RSC.

  • Microsoft DDPS Quality Assurance: QA performs a review of all required deliverables for completeness. If required deliverables do not pass QA, Microsoft provides feedback to the appropriate parties.

Escalation: To resolve issues around QA review, partners can email ddpshelp@microsoft.com.

Payment Rates

Microsoft Desktop Deployment Planning Services (DDPS) is a software assurance benefit for customers, which is a pre-defined service offering delivered by partners to deliver a desktop deployment plan. This service offers customers a 1, 3, 5, 10 or 15 day deployment planning service based on their individual software assurance benefit level. Customers will work with a pre-qualified Microsoft partner to develop a customized desktop deployment plan for their specific environment and assess the overall cost for deployment of this technology.

Some of the highlights of this program include:

  • Rates for DDPS are detailed in the Confidential Terms and Conditions found in the registration process. To view the rates at any time, follow the same steps used to register for the program. View steps on registration here.
  • These payment rates are reviewed quarterly and are subject to change. Microsoft recommends that partners review these payment rates each time prior to delivering an DDPS engagement and redeeming the voucher.
  • Partners should contact their Regional Service Center for all questions regarding payment or invoicing.
